MUD Status and our Future

I would like to formally apologize for shutting down the MUD in the past. Things were bad IRL and things in the MUD community made it necessary for me to shut down the MUD. Along with a problem administrator or three and attacks from rival SWRs, things were just too much to handle along with school and work. However, I do not intend to disappear again, but my time is limited now and I may not be around at all times to answer questions or monitor the MUD. Please keep that in mind, and know that I have several alternate means of contact.

As of this posting, full functionality has been restored to the MUD server. As you may or may not know, Galactic Insights is posted on my VPS. It is dedicated, meaning 100% of the resources are devoted to the MUD and the webserver. No other MUDs are on the server with us and we have a dedicated 100 mb/s or so connection.

The server is completely operational at this point since I brought the mail server online last night. The MUD seems to be stable and everything is going smoothly.

I am unsure where the MUD will go from here, but I have hopes that we can all work together as a community to bring us back to where we were. Currently, I am working on a few new things, such as a new space system. As such, I will not be making any changes to the current system. I have plans for a new engineering system, a mining system, and a new playerhome system, but no code has been laid down for those as of yet.

Currently, the MUD seeks builders and watchers. If you have experience, know someone who has experience, or know where to find someone that has experience, please help us out. We wish to completely renovate every ingame area and add new ones as well. This will require as many builders as we can take. Please bear with and report any bugs you find in the game and on the website as changes are made. To do the things I wish to do, problems will occur and you may lose data, time, or objects. I ask that you bear with my team and myself as we bring these changes to you.
